According to the survey, 22% are heavy smokers, and 32% are heavy drinkers, making up 22+32, or 54% of all surveyed. Since 18% do both, then:
54-18=36% of miners are heavy smokers, or heavy drinkers, or both. Thus, 100-36, or 64% of miners surveyed do neither, which is the probability that a randomly selected miner is neither a heavy smoker,nor heavy drinker. ☺☺☺☺
