1.  Calculate the number of SUCCESSFUL ways:

Choose the 9-ball 1 way, Choose the other 4 balls 
from these {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8} in 8C4 = 40 ways.

That's  1*40 = 40 successful ways.

2.  Calculate the number of POSSIBLE ways:

Choose the 5 balls in 14C5 = 2002 ways.
