Question 1063459: A candy company claims that 13
% of its plain candies are orange, and a sample of 100 such candies is randomly selected.
a. Find the mean and standard deviation for the number of orange candies in such groups of 100.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The mean is the proportion 0.13 or 13/100. It is n*p
The sd is the sqrt (variance). The variance is n*p*(1-p)=100*(0.13)*(0.87)=11.31
The sqrt is 3.36, and that is the sd.
