I answered Q1 earlier
Q2 220 households have one or the other, because 30 households have neither.
Of the 220, 160 have a DVD player and 140 have both
Here, the probability of P(A or B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A and B)
160+P(DVR)-140=220
P(DVR)=220-20=200
160 have DVD
200 have PVR
140 have both
Therefore, 220 have one or the other
30 have neither.
