Question 1057939: I have partially solved the below hypothesis test, but I am stuck. Below is the data set.
In this dataset you will find the amount spent for a dinner at the newest restaurant in town to be an average of $30.59. You, as researchers, have taken a sample from this dataset and have different results. Please conduct a hypothesis test to demonstrate if the original hypothesis is correct.

I believe the Null Hypothesis is: H0: μ = $30.59
I believe the alternative is: H1: 𝑋 ̅ < $30.59
I can't seem to calculate the test statistic, and therefore I cannot make my conclusion of rejecting the HO or fail to reject the HO.
Please help.

I believe the Null Hypothesis is:
Ho: μ = $30.59
Ha: u # $30.59
Sample Mean is the mean of your sample :: 29.35
Find the standard deviation of your sample.
Find the z-value (or t-value if your class uses t-tests); this is
the test statistic.
----
Assume this is a 95% test.
Find the p-value
If 2*(p-value) < 5% reject Ho.
Cheers,
Stan H.
