Assuming that this is the usual "six-sided die", there are 3 values which are "less than 4".

There are also 2 values which are even, but not "less than 4".

This means that there are a total of 5 values which will meet one of the two criteria: {1, 2, 3, 4, 6}.

The probability is then:

P(less than 4, or even) = number of outcomes which are "less than 4" or "even" / total number of outcomes

P(less than 4, or even) = 5/6
