Question 1050610: A box contains three marbles, one marble is red, one is black, and one is yellow. One marble is drawn from the box. Are the events mutually exclusive and why? The drawing of the marble would affect the probability and mutually exclusive events are those that cannot occur at the same time. But my confusion is how the events are being referred?

Yes, the events (which are drawing a specific color) are mutually exclusive. If I choose a red marble, it will not also be black. When I choose a marble, it will be either red, black, or yellow.
