The fifth term of an arithmetic sequence is 9
a + 8d = 9

the 32nd term is -84.
a + 31d = -84
------
Subtract and solve for "d"::
23d = -93
d = -4.04
------
Solve for "a"::
a = 9-8*-4.04 = 9+32.32 = 41.32
----------------------------------
What is the 23rd term?
a(23) = 41.32 + 22(-4.04) = -47.64

The nth term of an arithmetic sequence is defined as

an = a1 + d(n-1), where a1 is the first term and d is the common difference
