Answer by Edwin McCravy(20054)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are two boxes containing only orange and red pens.
Box A has 12 red pens and 8 orange pens.
Box B has 10 red pens and 6 orange pens.
A pen is randomly chosen from each box.
List these events from least likely to most likely.
Event 1: choosing a white pen from Box A.
That's impossible, so that probability is 0, which means never!

Event 2: choosing a red pen from Box A.
12 times out of 20 or 12/20ths of the time the pen you pick
from box A will be red. 12/20 reduces to 3/5 or 0.6
or 60%. So the probability of event 2 is 3/5 or 60% of the time.

Event 3: choosing a red pen from Box B.
10 times out of 16 or 10/16ths of the time the pen you pick
from box B will be red. 10/16 reduces to 5/8 or 0.625
or 62.5%. So the probability of event 3 is 5/8 or 62.5% of the
time.

Event 4: choosing an orange pen from Box B.
6 times out of 16 or 6/16ths of the time the pen you pick
from box B will be orange. 6/16 reduces to 3/8 or 0.375
or 37.5%. So the probability of event 4 is 3/8 or 37.5% of the
time.

You can put them in order from least likely to most likely.
