Divide by how many numbers there are.(30)
This gives you the mean (average) of the numbers.(5.468)
Subtract the mean from each number and square it.
Add these differences. (5.498)
Divide by however many differences you have.
This is called the variance. (0.1833)
Find the square root of the variance-- (0.428)
this is the standard deviation.
