Question 1002860: Carmen is participating in an online contest to win a car.She is given a choice of three doors. Each door leads to another level with three doors, and each of those leads to another level with three doors.Behind one of those final doors is the grand prize of a new car. What is the probability of winning the car if she chooses doors at random?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3 of the time she will pick the right first door.
1/3 of the time she will pick the right second door.
1/3 of the time she will pick the right third door.

her probability of winning is therefore 1/3 * 1/3 * 1/3 = 1/27.

look at it another way.

the number of possible choices is 3 * 3 * 3 = 27

only one of those choices will be the correct choice.

her probability of winning is therefore 1/27.
