I tried:
[2x^2 - 5x + (5/2)^2] - 3 - (5/2)^2
(2x^2 - 5x + 25/4) - 3 - 25/4
(2x^2 - 5x + 25/4) - 37/4
or:
2x^2 - 5x - 3 = 0
divide both sides by two:
x^2 - 5/2x - 3/2 = 0
x^2 - 5/2x = 3/2
x^2 - 5/2x - 25/16 = 3/2 + 25/16
x^2 - 5/2x - 25/16 = 49/16
Can anyone help out?

f(x) = 7x - 5x^2
I tried:
x(7-5x)
-x(5x-7)
Or:
-5x^2 + 7x
[-5x^2 + (7/2)^2] + (7/2)^2
-(5x^2 - 7x - 49/2) + 49/2
Now I'm lost!
