Question 437331: I need help. I am trying to solve addition and subtraction of rational numbers problem. I have to have a common denominator and I am not sure if I am right but this is the problem:
1/x + x/2x+4 - 2/x(sq)+2x
(sq=squared Not sure how to type that in)
This is a fraction problem and I think I have the right common denominator but I am not positive. And if it is not the right one, then I need help figuring how to get the right one in order to solve it. My solution for the common denominator is 2x(x+2). Question 438304: I need to solve by factoring and using the principle of zero products.
question: 9x^2-4=0
I know 9 has a square root of 3 and 4 has a square root of 2 so should I use the steps of "difference of squares" or "perfect square trinomial" to factor? Oh wait is that even a trinomial equation?
I did this one but there are like terms so I know what the GCF is to pull out. The problem I need help with doesn't have like terms.
x^2+18x=0
x(x+18)=0
x=0 x=-18
