Question 208055: Ok, I have to simplify the following expression, (3x^2-9x+6)/(10-5x). For the first expression I got 3x^2-3x-6x+6 which I broke down to
3x(x-1)-6(x-1)=(3x-6)(x-1). So I have (3x-6)(x-1)/(10-5x). Ok can this be further simplified? I got stuck here.

Question 208120: I am trying to solve the following equations but I am having trouble.

2. w^2+3w=18. I am not sure where to start with this one.

Question 208153: Let f(x)=3/4x-1/2, A) find f(2)+f(-2) and B) find the zero of f(x).
So far, I did 3/4(2)-1/2. Then I did 3/4(-2)-1/2. I got 1 and -2 so I added them and got -1 for A).
But for B), I don't quite understand what that section of the question is asking

2d^2 + 3d^2 - 4e^2 - 5e^2
I know (2d^2 + 3d^2) = 5d^2
but is the next part of the equation
-(4e^2 - 5e^2) = -1e^2 or
+(-4e^2 - 5e^2) = -9e^2
Can you please help?

Question 208164: I am trying to solve (x-3)^2+(x+2)^2=17. So I get (x-3)(x-3)+ (x+2)(x+2)=17
I tried the FOIL method here to get x^2-3x-3x+9=17 and x^2+2x+2x+4=17. For the first equation I did this: x^2-6x+9-17=17-17, which is x^2-6x-8 which I cannot factor unless I make -6x and -8 into positive integers. For the second equation I did this: x^2+4x+4-17=17-17, which is x^2+4x-13 which I cannot factor. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
