First lets factor out 2;

Now lets factor, lets put aside the 2 for now and then bring it back after we factor the equation;
(3x+4)(x-6)=0
now bring in the 2 and distribute;
2(3x+4)=0
6x+8=0
6x=-8

2(x-6)=0
2x-12=0
2x=12
x=6
Now we plug each answer we got for x into the original equation and check which one is the correct one;

6(36)-168-48=0
216-168-48=0
0=0 yes
so the answer;
x=6
