Question 977016: I have 3 problems regarding factoring. I have reviewed the videos and do not understand how to go about solving them. I have answers for the 2nd and 3rd questions, I guess I just need to verify if they are correct.
first - a4b + a^b3 - factoring using any method (a to the 4th power and b to the 3rd power)I do not know how to indicate with the karot sign).
2nd - 18z + 45 + z^ - factoring using any method
3rd - 8x^-2xy-y^ - factor using the AC method
Is they any other information I need to give?

Your three different expressions are NOT understandable.

Rewrite your question.
The karot indicates that the number to the left is a base and the number to the right is an exponent.
Constant factors of a term should be at the left of the term; variables should be shown just to the right; and care should be taken in indicating factors which have exponents, and using the karot.

examples:
a*x^p
as rendered .
3a^n*x=3xa^n
as rendered .
-
b^
This means nothing; the expected exponent is not written.
b^-ax
This is ambiguous. Either the exponent is missing or some part of the expression to the right of the minus sign may be an exponent. Make the suitable adjustements.
