Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
s^2 + 2s - 8 s+5
____________ * _________
s^2 + 3s - 10 s^2 - 16
------------------------------
Rewrite, factoring where you can to get:
[(s+4)(s-2)/(s+5)(s-2)] * [(s+5)/(s-4)(s+4)]
Cancel where you can to get:
= [(s+4)/(s+5)]
Cancel again where you can:
= [1][1/(s-4)]
= 1/(s-4)
