Question 918757: I need help on solving polynimials when its the zero-product property. I need to figure out what x is for this equation : x^2(x^4+16)=8x^4. I have x^2(x^4+16)-8x^4= 0 so far but im lost from here. Thank you so much for your help!
Answer by JoelSchwartz(130) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2(x^4+16)=8x^4
(x^2(x^4+16))/x^2=8x^4/x^2
x^4+16=8x^2
x^4-8x^2+16=0
((x^2-4)(x^2-4))=0
((x^2-4)(x^2-4))/(x^2-4)=0/(x^2-4)
x^2-4=0
x^2=4
x=+-2
