first factor the numerator, we get
now cancel the common factor (x-1),
answer is x - 4

(x^2-5x+4)/x-1
To simplify this we will get factors of x^2-5x+4 which are as follows-
x^2-5x+4
=(x-4)(x-1)
so it can be written as [(x-4)(x-1)]/(x-1)
answer will be (x-4)
