Question:

solve (x+4)^2=25

Answer:

Take square root on both sides...

==>

==> x + 4 = 5 or -5

Suppose x + 4 = 5

Subtract 4 from both sides of the expression

==> x + 4 - 4 = 5 - 4

==> x = 1

Suppose x + 4 = -5

Subtract 4 from both sides of the expression

==> x + 4 - 4 = -5 - 4

==> x = -9

So we have two values of x

Hence the solution is ,
x = 1 and x= -9

Hope you found the explanation useful.
