Question 90973: Can you explain to me how I would find the product in the following problem?
a(a + 5)(a - 5)
Thank you for helping me.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a(a + 5)(a - 5)
--------
Multiply (a+5)(a-5) as follows:
F: a^a = a^2
O: a*-5 = -5a
I: a^5 = +5a
L: 5*-5=-25
----------
Combine those to get: a^2-25
-------------
Multiply that by the "a" on the left end to get:
a^3-25a
