The ratio of male students to female students at a certain university is 9 to 11. If there is a total of 19,000 students, find the number of male studentand the number of female students
9 to 11 is the same as 9x to 11x where 9x = male and 11x = female
------
Equation:
9x + 11x = 1900
20x = 1900
x = 95
----
male = 9x = 845
female = 11x = 1055
