Question 86046: Okay, I need someone's help PLEASE...I am supposed to add and express my answer in simplest form: x-13/x^2-x-12+3x-3/x^2-x-12 I answered this problem with 3/x-3 am I right or where did I go wrong? Thanks
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x-13)/(x^2-x-12)+(3x-3)/(x^2-x-12)
The denominators are the same so combine the numerators to get:
[4x-16]/(x^2-x-12)
Factor to get:
[4(x-4)]/[(x-4)(x+3)]
Cancel the common (x-4) factor.
= 4/(x+3)
