The problem reads,
5/(a+1) + 4/3a+3
= 5/(a+1) + 4/3(a+1)
Taking 3(a+1) as the LCD,
= [5*3 + 4]/3(a+1)
= (15+4)/3(a+1)
= 19/3(a+1)
= 19/3a+3
