The square of 5 more than a number.
I don't understand how to do this.
Answer by lekelly(20) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the key to solving these types of problems is pulling apart the sentence:
x=the number
square=^2
5 more than=5+
put it all together:
5+x (5 more than the number)
(5+x)^2 is your answer
meaning (5+x)^2=(5+x)(5+x)=solve by foil:
25+5x+5x+x^2
Simplify:
25+10x+x^2=your answer
