Write a polynomial that represents the area of the room.
:
L = The length of the rug
W = the width
The wall is 3' from each side of the rug, therefore:
Area of room = (L+6) * (W+6)
"length of a rectangular rug is 2 times its width": therefore
A = (2W+6)*(W+6)
FOIL
A = 2W^2 + 12W + 6W + 36
A = 2W^2 + 18W + 36
