find a rational function that has x=-3 and x=5 as vertical asymptotes, y=2 as a horzontal asymptote and (3,0) as an x intercept
that is the problem but i can not make sense of the math book if someone could help i would greatly appreciate it!!

So the denominator contains (x+3) and (x-5)

so the numerator conains a factor of 2x^2

Comment: so far the function looks like
f(x) = 2x^2/[(x+3)(x-5)]
and (3,0) as an x intercept
So, it neets a factor of (x-3) in the numerator.
That reduces the need for x^2 in the numerator; x will do the job.
