Multiply thru by 3 to get rid of the fraction:
2a = 24+12a
Subtract 2a from both sides:
0 = 24+14a
Subtract 24 to get:
14a = -24
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
7a = -12
Divide both sides by 7 to get:
a =-12/7
