Question 81570: how can i rewrite the middle term as the sum of two terms and then factor completely?
x^2-11x+24

Answer by tutorcecilia(2152)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2-11x+24
Factor the last term: 24 = (8)(3) or (-8)(-3)
Note that -8-3=-11 equals the middle term, so
x^2-8x-3x+24
(x-8)(x-3)
