Answer by oscargut(2103)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The remainder is f(a) = 4(a)^2-3(a)-8 = 2
Then 4a^2-3a-10 =0
a = 2 or a = -5/4
Answer: a =2 or -5/4
