Question 782541: I asked this a few days ago and no response at all yet.
Can I get a little help on this one.
The volume of a rectangular prism is given by the formula V = lwh. What are the general dimensions of the prism if the volume is 6x3 +9x2 - 6x? You will not have an exact dimension but rather an expression that represents them.

I apologize you didn't get a solution yet, but unfortunately not all questions are answered. Sometimes it may take longer than expected to get a response.

Anyways, the volume is given to be 6x^3 + 9x^2 - 6x, let's factor this to get

6x^3 + 9x^2 - 6x

3x(2x^2 + 3x - 2)

3x(2x^2 + 4x - x - 2)

3x( (2x^2 + 4x) + (-x - 2) )

3x( 2x(x + 2) - 1(x + 2) )

3x(2x - 1)(x + 2)

So the dimensions are 3x by 2x-1 by x+2

For instance, the height could be 3x, the width could be 2x-1, that would make the depth to be x+2 (you could mix up these dimensions of course)
