-4(2x-1) = -6(x+2) - 2
-8x + 4 = -6x - 12 -2
Collect like terms
-8x + 6x = -12 - 2 - 4
-2x = -18
Multiply both sides by -1
2x = 18
x = 9

First of all we have to open the two brackets by multiplying the factors inside and outside the brackets
-4*2x -4*-1 = -6*x-6*2-2
or -8x+4 = -6x -12 -2
or -8x+6x = -14-4 = -18
or -2x = -18
or x = 9
check: Putting the value of x in either side of the equation we get
-4(2*9-1)=-4(18-1)=-4*17=-68
-6(9+2)-2=-6*11-2=-66-2=-68
Therefore both sides of the equation have the same value with x=9.
