(3x^2+10x+3)/(x+3)=(x^2-4x+3)/(x-1)

You can cancel (x+3 and (x-1) leaving just:
3x + 1 = x - 3
3x - x = -3 - 1
2x = -4
x = -2
:
You should check this solution by substituting -2 for x in the original problem
