Question 77290: can someone help me to express this into simplest form?
2/5-y/y-2
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/5-y/(y-2)
The least common denominator is 5(y-2)
Rewrite the fractions with the lcd as the denominator:
= 2(y-2)/lcd - y*5/lcd
=[2y-4-5y]/lcd
=[-3y-4]/lcd
=[-3y-4]/[5(y-2)]
