Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(q + 1)/(q-3) - (2q)/(q-3) / (q+5)/(q-3)
=[(q+1)/(q-3)]-[2q/(q-3)}
=[(q+1)/(q-3)]-[2q/(q+5)]
lcd = (q-3)(q+5)
=[(q+1)(q+5)]/lcd - [2q(q-3)]/lcd
=[q^2+6q+5-2q^2+6q]/lcd
=[-q^2+12q+5]/[(q-3)(q+5)]
