Question 75541: i am trying to factor completely?
3x^2-26x+16
=(1x+3)(2x+8)

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x^2-26x+16
Use the Quadratic Formula to get:
x=[26+-sqrt(26^2-4*3*16]/6
x=[26+-sqrt(484)]6
x=[26+-22]/6
x=48/6=8 ; x=4/6=2/3
Since 8 and 2/3 are roots, the factors are:
--------
=(x-8)(3x-2)
