8d - (-7c - 2d)
The - symbol means: 8d - 1(-7c - 2d)
When -1 is multiplied into the parenthesis the positives turn into negatives and vice-versa.
So: 8d + 7c + 2d
Add 8d and 2d together because they are like terms.
10d + 7c is your answer.
