Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(y^2-36)/(y+3) * (y-4)/(y^2+2y-24)
Factor where you can to get:
=[(y+3)(y-3)/(y+3)] * [(y-4)/(y-6)(y+4)]
Cancel factors that are common to numerator and denominator:
=[1/(y-3)] * [(y-4)/(y-6)(y+4)]
=(y-4)/[(y-3)(y-6)(y+4)]
