How would you multiply ?
(5x + 3y)^2
(5x + 3y)(5x + 3y)
Multiply using the FOIL Method:
5x * 5x = 25x^2
5x * 3y = 15xy
3y * 5x = 15xy
3y * 3y = 9y^2
Therefore:
25x^2 + 15xy + 15xy + 9y^2
Combine like terms:
15xy + 15xy = 30xy
Answer:
25x^2 + 30xy + 9y^2
