if this problem is 4/(a-7)=-2a/(a+3) then just cross multiply
4(a+3)=-2a(a-7)
4a+12=-2a^2+14a
2a^2+4a-14a+12=0
2a^2-10a+12=0
a^2-5a+6=0
(a-3)(a-2)=0
a-3=0
a=3 answer
a-2=0
a=2 answer

or (4/a)-7=(-2a/a)+3
(4-7a)/a=-2+3
(4-7a)/a=1
a=4-7a
a+7a=4
8a=4
a=4/8
a=1/2 answer

solve these 4/(a-7)=-2a/(a+3)
Cross-multiply to get:
4(a+3) = -2a(a-7)
4a+12 = -2a^2+14a
2a^2-10a+12=0
a^2-5a+6=0
(a-6)(a+1)=0
a=6 or a=-1
