2x = - 2x + 4(2x - 3) ------ Multiplying by LCD, 4x + 4, or 2(2)(x + 1)
2x = - 2x + 8x - 12
2x + 2x - 8x = - 12
4x - 8x = - 12
- 4x = - 12
