Question 682163: 4x^2-7x-2 divided by 8x^3+2x^2+4x+1 simplify it please
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x^2-7x-2 divided by 8x^3+2x^2+4x+1
----
Factor:
[4x^2-8x+x-2] / [2x^2(4x+1) + (4x+1)]
----
[4x(x-2)+(x-2)] / [(4x+1)(2x^2+1)]
---
[(x-3)(4x+1)] / [(4x+1)(2x^2+1)]
-----
Cancel the common 4x+1 factors:
= (x-3)/(2x^2+1)
