 p(x)=2x^4-x^3+2x-1    x = -1  and x = 1/2 are roots

Using synthetic division

-1	2	-1	0	2	-1

		-2	3	-3	1

1/2	2	-3	3	-1	0

		1	-1	1	

	2	-2	2	0

results in

   2x^2 - 2x + 2
