Question 664222: how do i solve a math problem that says "Find the original price of a pair of shoes if the sale price is 91 after 30% discount"
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = original price
30% = 30/100 = .3
...
x - .30x = 91
Combine like terms
.7x = 91
Divide both sides by .7
x = $130
...
Check
.3(130) = $39 discount
$130 - 39 = $91 price after discount
