Since x = 2 is a root (makes x^3-8 = 0), we can divide x^3-8 by (x-2) to get (x^2 + 2*x + 4). The quadratic can be factored, but the roots are complex.
x = {-1 +i[sqrt(3)], -1 - i[sqrt(3)]}
