(x^2 -4 )/(x-2) + x^2 = 4
or (x+2)(x-2)/(x-2) + x^2 =4
or x+2 + x^2 =4 [when x not equal to 2 we can cancel x-2]
or x^2 + x +2 -4 =0
or x^2 +x -2 =0
or x^2 +2x -x -2=0
or x(x+2) -(x+2)=0
or (x-1)(x+2)=0
now we can say either x-1=0 or x+2=0
x=1 or x=-2
