%28a%5E3-2a%5E2%29%2B%285a-10%29 Group the terms in two pairs


a%5E2%28a-2%29%2B5%28a-2%29 Factor out the GCF a%5E2 out of the first group. Factor out the GCF 5 out of the second group


%28a%5E2%2B5%29%28a-2%29 Since we have the common term a-2, we can combine like terms


So a%5E3-2a%5E2%2B5a-10 factors to %28a%5E2%2B5%29%28a-2%29


In other words, a%5E3-2a%5E2%2B5a-10=%28a%5E2%2B5%29%28a-2%29
