Question 634138: The question I was given was to perform the indicated operation for the rational expression: (3/P)+(1/2)
However, isn't this impossible since you cannot combine like terms? Or would the solution be (4/P+2)?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since it is not an equation, you can't solve for p.
All you can do is combine the terms.
The instructions are vague.
Multiply the first term by 2/2
and the second term by p/p
to get a common denominator.
6/2p+p/2p
(6+p)/2p
