This isn't an equation, if you meant factor:
factor out the GCF 2

2(a___)(a____) the blank needs to be filled with two numbers that = -35 when multiplied and add to give you -2. -7*5=-35 and -7+5=-2

If you really meant to type 2a^2-4a-70=0, we can now solve it.

a-7=0 and a+5=0
a=7 and a=-5
