 think "difference of squares"
36y^2 – z^2
can be rewritten as:
(6y)^2 – z^2  (now, it is a difference of squares)
factoring:
(6y-z)(6y+z)

 Factoring the difference of 2 squares is something you will need to be able to do. Those type of problems come up a lot
In general 
 is a difference of 2 squares. Where one term is 6y and the other is z
there you go
Often you will be given term that are higher order, for example 
And you can see that first term is still a difference of 2 squares so it can be factored again. So keep your eye open for that
